Ma toute première exposition perso… c’est quelque chose quand même.

J-21 ! Je m’y prends un peu à l’avance, car les agendas se remplissent vite !… et je ne manquerai pas de faire une ou deux piqûres de rappel (oui, j’ai fait des études de com’…) 
Chers lecteurs réguliers ou de passage, vous êtes bien sûr tous conviés au vernissage…

D’ici là, je vous souhaite un excellent premier week-end printanier… maintenant, notez bien la date du 16 mai avec mon nom et l’adresse, éteignez votre ordinateur et allez prendre l’air.

Gypsy Project

En ce moment, je prépare ma toute première exposition perso ! Vernissage le 16 mai, dans un restaurant du 14e arrondissement. D’ici quelques jours je ferai une annonce digne de ce nom avec plus de précisions… Les illustrations exposées seront inédites. J’ai choisi pour thème l’univers des contes tziganes hongrois… Depuis bientôt trois ans que je suis rentrée de Budapest (comme ils sont loin, maintenant, ces mois d’insouciance d’étudiante Erasmus…), j’avais l’envie d’un projet autour de ces contes, dont j’avais trouvé par hasard le livre dans la bibliothèque de l’Institut français. 

Nowadays, i’m working for my first exhibition ! It will begin on May 16th, in Paris. Soon i’ll post a real ad with more details… It will be new illustrations about hungarian gypsy tales.

{ultimate update} i change the illustration homepage to put first the more recent works. i also add one ‘animation’ for l’autojournal.fr (i just made the illstrations) on the animation page.

{the pink and blue project} the South Korean photographer Jeongmee Yoon photographed boys’ blue objects and girls’ pink. The photos are beautiful but also alarming… how do we define feminity and masculinity ?

Yesterday I hadn’t time to draw something for today’s post, because I spent half of the time working on the new css and new typical blog features… I let you discover… As I’m not a web developer, it takes me time and time to understand so simple things… and I still have some details to correct.

Because the sun is gone this morning, here is a cute risotto dish (DIM - did it myself) to finish the week with an italian touch.

My scanner is becoming my best friend… i’m scanning sketchbooks to put in the portfolio section (the menu on the right that you can’t see if you read the blog with a rss reader). Today I’m glad to announce that the video section is open !

Guest blog

Faire le choix d’un blog m’amène à me poser souvent des questions… pourquoi un blog ? pour qui ? qu’est-ce que ça va m’apporter, sur un plan personnel ou professionnel ? Chaque jour, quand je poste un dessin, j’ai un peu l’impression de jeter une bouteille à la mer : je ne sais pas toujours si le message contenu à l’intérieur sera lu par quelqu’un… Les outils de statistiques sont stériles, ils ne renvoient que des listes de chiffres, sans personnalité. Alors c’est toujours un plaisir de découvrir dans les commentaires laissés par certains visiteurs que le message de la bouteille a trouvé un écho chez eux…

Et puis, un jour, je reçois un mail de Pablo, qui étudie le design industriel à la Coruña, en Espagne, qui a trouvé par hasard une de mes illustrations sur Moleskine project, et qui voudrait écrire un article à propos de moi sur son blog (rien que ça !). Et il a écrit {ici, en espagnol et en anglais} des choses tellement gentilles… très encourageantes pour moi… encore une fois : merci Pablo !

Choose to manage a blog make me often ask myself questions… a blog, for what ? for who ? what will I get from it, personaly or professionaly ? Each day, when I post a drawing, it is like throwing a bottle in the sea : I don’t always know if the message inside will be read by someone… Statistic tools are sterile, they just display lists of numbers, without personality. So it is always a pleasure to discover thanks to comments that the message in the bottle echoed back among them…

And then, someday, I receive an email from Pablo, who’s studying industrial design at La Coruña, in Spain, who found one of my illustrations randomly, on Moleskine project, and who would like to write an article about me on his blog (!!!). And he wrote {here, in spanish and in english} so nice things… very encouraging for me… so, again : thanks Pablo !

School time

These days I tidied up my room, and I found some old photos. These are shool projects I made six-seven years ago…

{ Our first fashion design project : create new clothes from a pre-existant one, we choose to use a white shirt and red scoth-tape. }
